They're Not The Bee Gees!

Dad holding "Pookie" Posted by Picasa

I was recently tagged by another of my favorite bloggers Romani Heart to post the 10 songs I'm listening to now.

Normally I listen to oldies, in fact I'm so far behind on current music that it's not even funny!

A friend of mine, John, has been kind enough to burn tons of CDs of our favorite oldies and mail them up here. Thanks again John!

When I drive, I usually turn on Newstalk Radio, and if Mr. SB is with me it's Sports.

So what am I listening to now?

Several nights ago I watched a documentary about the Bee Gees, and now I'm hearing their old songs running through my head!

"How Deep Is Your Love"
"Massachusetts"
"Stayin' Alive"
"Islands In The Stream"
"You Should Be Dancing"
"Nights On Broadway"
"Jive Talkin'"
"Lonely Days"

That leaves me two more- so I'm choosing two of my all-time favorites which are always stuck in my brain:

"Last Dance" by Donna Summer
"Every Kind Of People" by Robert Palmer

Please Lord, get the Bee Gees out of my head! Well maybe not Barry Gibb, because he's ummmmmmm delicious...

Barry Gibb! Too funny. On the flight home from New York I was flipping channels and ended up on VH1 or something. I started giggling so The Hubs removed his earphones and asked me what was so funny. They were doing some show on the Bee Gees and I said "I used to think Barry Gibb was *SO* hot when I was younger". For me it was the facial hair...GAH I love moustaches (beards are ok, but I prefer goatees)

He just shook his head, rolled his eyes and put his earphones back on. Well then, don't ask!

You know, that got me to thinking...I'm going to do a post about the various famous people I had crushes on. Boy are there some doozies!

Hey, I'd still do Barry Gibb anytime... even at his advanced age!
Squirl and I both had crushes on Davy Jones from The Monkees!
Can't wait to read your post.

Yes, I thought Barry Gibb was hot, too. Of course Davy Jones was my first real love.

Yeah, I loved Davy Jones too, as we well know!
Too bad we were probably both taller than he was by the time we were 10 years old.
Barry Gibb appears tall, unless his brothers were way short.

You young whippersnapper!
I've always wanted to say that, but what the heck is a whippersnapper anyway?
It's kind of weird around here being one of the older posters.
I would think reading my postings would 'kinda' be like reading your mother's blog- sort of creepy...

You don't seem old SierraBella (even though you are)

KIDDING!! about the last part, not the first part.

My Mom would never blog about ass-less chaps and doing Barry Gibb

Oh soozieq!
I don't feel old, but I am older than most of you.
If my mother was alive, I'd bet she just might post about assless chaps.
Wouldn't it be funny to find out your mother was actually Bucky Four-Eyes or somebody equally wild and crazy and downright fun?

When I was in high school my best friend and I were OBSESSED with disco... particulary Danny Terio, Johnny T, and the BeeGees.

We met every day for a week and watched and re-watched Saturday Night Fever. We memorized the entire dance routing Johhny T does to "You should be Dancing" which remains my FAVORITE Disco song EVER.

I love the Bee Gees. And my mom would have been older than you. You're more like an older sister to me!

And I'd love to see Hermes dancing! lol

I can so picture you and your friend working the dance routine... and I bet you could still do it from memory!
I do love the two songs you mentioned.

rae ann-
OK! I'll totally go for older sister, and I thank you.
Y'know all the new dance shows cropping up on TV? I'm expecting to see Hermes appear, doing a salsa routine. Disco would be good too!
