Oh, To Be A Cat-

Knucklehead relaxing on the deck- Posted by Hello
The past few weeks have been busy. Although we'd already weeded the property, the late rains brought everything back up. Luckily the new growth isn't as tall and thick as before, and I'm seeing that columbine has replaced the lupine which was growing earlier in the spring.
I'm carefully weeding around the columbine, but oh my aching back!
We're still picking up small branches and twigs from the oak which died, and chipping them rather than burning. Now that we have a scanner, we've noticed how many fires begin with a burn-pile getting out of hand, or through the use of equipment on the dried grasses.
We're taking advantage of a few cooler days to try like hell to finish this all up.
Then, just maybe, we can sit on the deck and enjoy the view- just like our cat (pictured above.)

Thanks!
We're still deciding whether to renew, or tear down and do Trex... but the $$$ involved!
So- did you guys feel the earthquake yesterday?

Yes, you can be Knucklehead after you help with the yardwork!
In fact I'm inside on a break, but it's starting to get a bit too warm to continue much longer today.

Very nice! Knucklehead sure is living "the life", huh?

It looks beautiful where you're at, very serene.

Cats lead the most wonderful lives. Lazy days that merge into wild nights. To a cat, every night is an adventure.

Hi! I'm guessing we're not too far from you- between Arnold and Jackson! It is quiet up here, for sure.

jac-
Well hurry up, we're waiting for your help!

This cat has definitely had some nighttime adventures! He reminds me of a teenage boy sneaking home in the dawn, slightly damaged but ready for more trouble after a little rest.

oh man, I feel guilty for being lazy about pulling some weeds around the jalapenis!

That's a great deck! I vote for renewing...

Hope you're feeling better!
We have about 2 1/2 acres to weed, and want to take some undergrowth at the edge of the forest.
Renewing the deck will be a lot cheaper than the alternatives!

Wow, I know where you're at and NO WONDER I liked your view so much.

We just (as in weeks ago) sold our cabin in Arnold. Well it was The Hubs cabin, but he got to keep it in his divorce and I got to enjoy it in our 7+ years we had it together.

It is beautiful up that direction. We're down in the flat lands(East Bay Area) but we really used to enjoy our occasional trip up there. Of course, there were only SO many times I could eat at the Snowshoe Brewery....but Murphys has some nice places to eat. GAH, no wonder I'm so fat, I rate places on their RESTAURANTS!

You're the first blogger to actually know this area!
Too bad you sold the cabin in Arnold! A friend loves breakfast at Grounds in Murphys, but I love to cook, so we rarely eat out.
We moved up here full-time about 3 - 4 years ago from Fremont.
