Ode To My Oaks

my springtime hell

They're big
They're 'purty'
But their falling pollen
Makes my car real dirty.

I could park in the garage, except there is too much stuff in the way.

The pollen is just killing my husband... but then he could be faking it to get out of yard duties!

That's a great little rhyme! The pollen is killing my sinuses.

Yeah, there's nothing so bad as a bad rhyme... or a pun.
I've been ok, sinus-wise (so far.)

Great poem there. :-)

I hate when my car gets coated. Just in the last year I found out that I have allergies. I just don't know what the trigger is. Mine are worse in the winter.

And why do garages end up being magnets for stuff other than cars?

My deep blue car, coated with yellow pollen looks greenish.
My husband thought he was immune from poison oak... until last year that is!
Our garden tractor takes up quite a bit of space, but we mostly are holding a lot of my youngest daughter's crap, er stuff...
J., if you read this; you need to come by and start sorting!

Excuse me!!!

Sorry Sierrabella, I just couldn't help it with all that pollen!! ;) I love the picture, though!

Squirl, I bet molds and spores are your trigger, then.

I think you're correct with Squirl's diagnosis. No wonder you're called eclectic!

I love oaks! I wish we had some. All we have is a couple of dumb ol' Bradford pear.

Hi!
As you can see, I'm posting less and less frequently.
Guess I'm getting busier!

kitty-
Bless you!
Whenever I go looking for you, you've either moved, or changed your blog!
Hugs back 'atcha!'

Bradford pears sound wonderful!
We have a couple of apple trees and a peach, which the deer get more use out of than we do!

I just really enjoy your blog--have missed you-from Georgia where the pollen was 2 months ago and no excuse for a dirty car any longer!

Well hello! Thank you for the compliment.
I thought about taking a picture of the dirty car and posting...I washed it one week ago, and it looks awful already!

Thank you!
The grandson helped me transplant some Roma tomatoes today as a late Mother's Day gift to his mama.

jac-
Thank you.
Actually the doorstep isn't much better. The pollen has been blowing like a sandstorm, so it's everywhere.

I know that Memorial Day doesn't mean a three day weekend for you, as you're retired. But I hope you enjoy it anyway. :)

Oh, I still enjoy the holidays! I was scheduled more than my fair share of holidays back when I was working, so I still appreciate being off!
Hope you're getting some time off this weekend.
