It's A Goner!
The dead oak tree-
This photo was taken a few hours ago.
Notice the tree behind? It appears quite healthy.
The few remaining leaves on the oak in the foreground are what is left of last years largesse. They're dead too...
Other than some darn good firewood, I just now realized one other reason not to mourn its demise- I won't be cleaning the deck and the eaves so frequently!

You'll probably be safer, too. As much as I hate to see a tree go, if it's dead then it doesn't take too much wind knock down branches. Or to knock the whole tree down. Well we do what we have to. :-)

Just a few days ago I saw four turkey vultures sitting in that tree... a scary sight!
An omen, maybe?
Plus, it's nice to have that firewood. We cut down several trees when we moved in to the old place and were very greatful to those trees for giving us all that wood that winter.

The wood will defiitely come in handy!
We use our woodstove infrequently, so this could last us a while.
