Goofiness To Ensue Shortly
My dad, clowning around-
I have a busy week ahead!
We may, or may not be having company come by this upcoming weekend, giving me the incentive to begin my fall housecleaning. At this time, I don't know whether our potential guest is planning to stay here a few days or just drop in for a visit.
This past weekend I had the urge to start weeding seldom used clothing from my closet, restore order to my pantry and straighten up my office.
My subscription to Ancestry.com expires in two weeks, so I'm using the remaining time to revisit and recheck their database for anything I may have missed. I must have spent 8 hours yesterday alone on this task.
I won't be as active as usual here in Blogworld, but intend to peek in at everyone throughout the week. I wouldn't want to miss anything you know!

Enjoy your company and have a great week.
I am a bloody forigner, but do tell me, sierra ! what is this Ancestry.com about... after all, you can save a bit of my time.
nanina-
Thanks, and you have a great week as well!
jac-
Oh, sorry...
Ancestry.com is a database of census records, marriage and death records, old newspapers and other information allowing one to search for their family history.
I have another blogsite (which I haven't updated recently) about my own family history search:
http://sierrabella.blogspot.com/
as well as two blogsites with old family photos which I scanned.
I've been enjoying this hobby for over two years now.
Fall cleaning...yeah I should do that, right after I finish unpacking from the move in April! I'm really not that bad, I have been slowly reorganizing stuff and getting rid of things we don't need. Two trips to Goodwill, and another box started for them so far! My sister and I are organizing Thanksgiving here at my house this year, so I have to be all done in two months!
What a cool picture of your Dad. Looks like he was a fun guy (or at least we doing the part at that moment! :-)
great picture! Enjoy your week - we will keep your blog warm!

Before we moved to this house full-time, I had three years to go through and discard stuff.
Now it's time to go through things again!
Only two months until Thanksgiving is so hard to believe!

Thanks!
My dad was usually fairly serious, but bring out a camera...

That's what I'm afraid of!
I could check back in and find a game of twister or truth or dare going on!
I totally thought about crashing your blog and starting a party while you were gone. But I didn't think you wanted to come back to empty beer cans and random undies strewn about!
The truth or dare went on until I had 127 comments. I've never seen anything like it on my blog before or since. :-)
Everyone cleaned up nicely before I got back. It is quite the addiction to want to keep up with everyone here, even if you're busy.
Good luck with the cleaning. Have fun with your company. And I love the picture of your dad.
I got it, and remember passing through your family history blogs a number of times. I wonder,,, you must be a super woman to do all these, the house, the garden bit, family history, quite a bit of work you do.
I get in those cleaning out moods too. Have good rest of the week. I'm afraid my blog has been kind of serious and angry lately. I'll try to get back to the fun stuff soon.
soozieq-
With all the cleaning goin' on in real life, I'd be perturbed to return to a mess, but at least it's a mess which is easy to clean!
squirl-
Oh I remember that party at your place!
Thanks for the support!
kitty-
OMG I didn't know you were downsizing!
Eat that stuff up, or donate it!

Being retired gives me that extra time to do these things I like.
When I was working, and had my three children to take care of was quite a different story!

I've noticed quite a few of my favorite blogs have become way more serious recently.
It's hard to be humorous just yet.
Aw, c'mon you guys, Sierrabella is a sport -- she wouldn't mind a little game of truth or dare while she's spelunking the geneologies.
Squirl, since you hosted the last one, I start with you:
TRUTH or DARE?
Sorry to butt in, but I just wanted to say something..."HI SIERRABELLA"
Hope you got Mr. SB's truck situation figured out and I hope you enjoy your company.
I know your busy busy, but I just wanted to say "HI, HI!"
Fine, while I'm waiting for squirlly - girrrly to check in, I'll ask you, too, soozieq:
Truth or Dare?
Ok, Eclectic ~ Truth (I'm a little chicken until I get few drinks in me)
Woo-hoo! Someone to party with at S-B's!! OK, here's the question:
What's the stupidest thing you ever did on a date?
Oops, I haven't checked in lately. But I guess that question is now for Soozie Q.
eclectic, soozieq and squirl-
Mom here, just checking in...
I'm still busy, so have at it!
Clean up the empties before I get home, OK?
don't mean to but in...
but whatever happened to tech 115?
did I miss something?
We'll make sure everything is cleaned up, promise!
Nice try, Squirly, but no dice. You're still on my little barbed hook here: Truth or Dare?
Okay you all are having a party and I wasn't invited. Okay I don't have a problem with crashing. So here I am. :)
Nanina, we all crashed the party, welcome!
Eclectic, truth I guess. Please be gentle.
Gentle? **snort**
Ha! Alright: If you didn't do what you do now, and money were no problem, what would you choose to occupy your time during the weekdays?
Nanina: WELCOME!!! Of course by now you should see the pattern:
Truth or Dare?
I would probably edit books. There's not much I love more than reading.
Now Eclectic, Truth or Dare?
Let's live life on the wild side, shall we? DARE!!!
I guess for me it would be truth~

I have no idea if Tech 115 is still employed, but the Tundra is fine.
squirl, eclectic and nanina-
I'm still poking my head in here~ it's pretty quiet for a party!
You all just crack me up!
Sierrabella, we're trying. Maybe (and I'm speaking for myself here) we're just a little too nerdy to have a very big party.
Let's see, Eclectic, you choose Dare. Okay, I dare you to make up a poem, with at least three stanzas, about something silly that your kids do.
Nanina: What is your most annoying habit to live with?
Squirl: Alrighty, you asked for it....here goes:
It's funny, you'd think you'd know what to expect,
But each child is a surprise.
From kissing the mirror, or dressing the dog,
To the stalking and hunting of flies.
She sings songs from musicals brushing her teeth!
He dances around with a moose.
The little one giggles and tries to keep up,
While I wait for all hell to break loose.
They're happy, they're grumpy, they're best friends, they fight.
They color my world rainbow hue.
Perhaps that explains then the sobering sight
Of the ink on the wall now that's blue!
What is your most annoying habit to live with?
I have a tenacious memory, so I have a habit of bringing up the past. John says I have a memory like a steel trap . . . which he doesn't mean in a good way. :)
During disagreements I bring up the past instead of staying in the present, he hates it and I am trying to change it. But then I am a woman after all, and we aren't suppose to let anything go, right? LOL
Eclectic, that's wonderful! See, your muse hasn't left you after all. I wondered if your children would help rouse your muse?
Eclectic, Wow that is great, you did good and I LOVE IT.
Hi Sierrabella, hope we haven't made too much of a mess. :)
Nanina, Thanks! But don't apologize for the mess... I mean, c'mon, you want the place to look a little lived-in, don't you? ;)
Squirl: Thanks, sweetie!
NOW, how 'bout a rousing game of 'Spin the Bottle'? Of course, we'd have to empty it first. Who wants some scotch?
*peeking around, butting in*
did someone say scotch?
eclectic, I like your poem :)
sierrabella: things are better... will blog about it tomorrow - too busy with poker now ;)
and looking for the scotch!
Atta kid, Cheesecakey! Here. Neat or with a splash?
Is the owner of the blog back yet? Is the bottle emptied yet?
neat, please
*hic*
my word verification is agiism.....
No, Squirl! Have a double!! We've gotta get this thing emptied so we can spin it!
Unusual ??? you havn't posted any, Sierra !
My goodness!
I'm getting more hits by staying away from blogging!
Only one empty bottle? I 'shoulda' dropped by earlier...
Your dad seems like a hoot!
sylvana-
He had his moments!
All it took was to turn a camera towards him.
