OMG, that's pretty bad. I saw the picture of your husband. um, no way that mistake should've happened...
What's terribly funny about this is that the sender is a former co-worker to the both of us... and related to Mr. SB several generations back, in the Azores!
Oh dear. That's something my mom would do. She has a stash of all-purpose greeting cards, y'know the box with all different occasions? And when something arises, she'll thumb through them and send the "sympathy" one that comes to hand. Hopefully, she hasn't quite been this obvious yet, but if not, it's probably just a matter of time. *sigh* But, I guess we'll give points for them sending kind thoughts, even if the card was horribly inappropriate? *hugs*
Eclectic, this is a nice Hallmark card, but knowing JP, well he just doesn't pay attention sometimes!
Your mom sounds delightful, and ready for whatever comes!
Hugs back 'atcha.'
Oops, I think you are right and they didn't really look at the card. I'm glad you could find humor in this.
Hi Nina!
The first thing I did was check the envelope to be sure it was addressed to me!
I can so picture JP, faced with way too many card choices, grumbling "Oh f___ it!" and grabbing the first one at hand.
I find this awfully funny!
Oh NO way! How sad, yet at the same time sickly humorous.
I wonder if Mr. SB and the Hubs have any shared ancestry ;-)
Yes SoozieQ, I found it oddly funny too!
I'm going by memory here, but I believe Mr. SB's family came from the island of San Miguel (or Sao Miguel), in the Azores.
They later settled in New Bedford, Massachusetts.
Oh, no. Then you have sympathy for the harried card sender. Someone sent me a sympathy card for my illness. I mean, a "someone died" card. I know it was accidental, just a preoccupied single mom, probably meant to say "sorry you're not feeling well," but the "sorry" went beyond that. I had to laugh, too.
Hi Susie, I'm glad to see you're out and about today!
OMG, that is just too wrong!!!
Did you check your pulse? I would have.
You showed me that you can still make me smile.
So happy that you are becoming normal.
Jac-
I don't know that I'm ever normal, but I sure am getting back to my old self!
Glad I was able to make you smile.
Ha. Yea, don't be normal. We wouldn't want THAT. ;)
I don't know if I checked my pulse. I think I just thought, "hey, don't rush me!"
Thank goodness you have a sense of humor Susie!
I emailed the picture of this card to my eldest daughter, and she thought I'd photoshopped it.
Holy buckets! I would've checked to see if was addressed to me too! Kind of funny and yet...not. Peace.
Happy Thanksgiving!
Thinking of you today, and wishing you many warm, bright moments. xxx
Traci, hi!
Yeah, it was definitely a strange feeling, reading that...
Squirl and Susie, hope you both had a lovely holiday!
I drove 2 and a half hours, had a lovely meal and good conversation and drove home without any major traffic tieups! Very nice!!!
Wow, that's great! I hope it was a great day for you. :)
Hey Squirl, I hope you and Ichabod had a nice day as well!
:)
Jac-
Back 'atcha!'
awwwwwwwwh we are not perfect sierrabella. :o(
Forgive them and smile.
Nice to see you here. :o)
Hi Trinitystar-
I'm not smiling, I'm laughing!
I'm happy to see you here again!
Been super busy between the holiday, a houseguest and some remodeling I began...
Keeping busy sounds like a good thing.
Just stopped by to say hi!
Hola, Amiga! Just stopping by with a hug and a glass of wine.
Well hi Squirl!
I'm most definitely keeping busy. In fact I'm taking a break, and getting ready to begin painting.
Hi to you also!
Hola Eclectic!
I'm open to hugs and wine!
In fact, I might just open a bottle when I'm done for the day. Heck, I might just have a shot of my favorite Yukon Jack!
Cheers!!!
Just thinking about you darling.
Nina!
That's probably because I was thinking about you yesterday!
Hope you're feeling better as each day passes.
Let me know how to send a card ?
Jac-
Well, the correct thing to do is to be sure you don't send a card which says sorry on the loss of your "wife," when it's the husband who passed away!
Your comments are all the cards I need! I thank you (all) for your 'cards!'
I don't mean to pester you, but I would appreciate.
I am aware of the mistake some body made. LOL
:)
I am sure that you are not afraid of being chased around with a greeting card by an African who is at the other side of the Globe. ha ha ha ha
Take care sierra.
It's the thought that counts, right?
Hi Squirl!
And a big :) back atcha!
Jac, you always make me smile!
Now I can't publish my address, you know. If you happen across my most recent post, you'll see I don't seem to have one right now!!!
How right you are Sylvana!
Haven't had any time lately to come visit everyone. I know I'm missing out on a lot!
I'm racing the calendar to get several rooms painted, because my new carpeting will be installed next week!
I read that post about the address problem.
But I have no use of your address as I am two and half hours flight away from my nearest post office.
I mean only your net ID. Mine is jacpaulus@yahoo.com
